Overview

(1) What is the R-Mobile Consortium?
 Cellular phones and other mobile devices are, in addition to becoming more highly functional and having lower power operation, are also expected to further expand the market with faster communication speeds and advances in cloud computing.
 To date, Renesas Electronics has introduced to market the "SH-Mobile Series" and "EMMA Mobile Series" for cellular phones and portable multimedia devices, and has built up a high level of reliability and a successful track record. Now, these two technologies will be fused and developed as the "R-Mobile" product series.
 The R-Mobile Consortium is a membership (registration) program that leverages collaboration with a wide variety of partners centering around the R-Mobile Series to pursue and create system solutions for cellular phones and other mobile devices.

(2)Objective of the Consortium
The R-Mobile Consortium will involve:

  • Collaboration with partners
  • Mutual cooperation in order to shorten development periods
    (accelerated development)
  • Creation of system solutions for cellular phones and other mobile devices

Through these, the Consortium aims to play a leading role in the mobile device market.
